The Kevin Rohan Memorial Eco-Foundation (KRMEF) is an NGO established in 2008 in the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. Our aim is to create a healthy, sustainable environment that embodies eco-friendly practices for the well-being of local communities.
Our founding principles have remained at the center of all our activities, they are: respect, integrity, dignity, productivity, trust, and inclusiveness. Through our programs, we wish to foster the growth of inclusive communities throughout all of Nepal and beyond.
We believe that our individual health and happiness is profoundly connected with our natural environment, so by taking steps to live in a sustainable manner, which can ensure a healthy earth while leading enriching lives.

Our Story
The Kevin Rohan Memorial Eco Foundation commemorates the life of Kevin Rohan Gurung, who passed away on December 21st, 2008. During his 7 years of life he brought warmth and joy to everyone around him. Although he is not physically with us anymore, he is our inspiration to continue working to enrich the lives of others. We honor him by providing opportunities for impoverished communities to thrive through cultivating a deeper connection with the earth and to each other. In doing so, Kevin’s memory is preserved in the warm smiles of the people whose lives who have been touched by our work.
The principles at the heart of KRMEF are centered around their vision for Kevin to become a holistic, biodynamic, and socially responsible individual. The projects at KRMEF are meant to provide others the opportunities that Kevin was never able to have, and has inspired us to launch the foundation as a center for teaching others. Though our various work in biodynamic agricultural methods, early childhood education, medical services and community development, we aim to be of service to Nepal’s neediest communities. By cooperating with villagers and sharing our support, we can bring about the positive and sustainable changes so needed in Nepal. Villagers can learn to develop their own eco-friendly practices that benefit themselves and their family so they may be the change in their own communities as well.
The foundation has grown from humble beginnings to a flourishing center for eco-development. Renowned experts from all over the world in fields ranging from biodynamic farming, medicine, architecture, and many others have come to lend their expertise. We also welcome the creativity and participation of guests and volunteers who would like to learn more about our projects. This generous national and international support has helped garner new perspectives and has encouraged positive change in keeping with our vision.
