The extensive beauty of the Garden of dreams attracts a lot of people. It was the then, most sophisticated garden of Nepal. It was originally built as a private garden in the 20th century by high ranking Rana field marshal, Kaiser Shamsher (1892-1964). Then it was renowned as the garden of Six Seasons. The six pavilions inside of Garden of Dreams are dedicated to the six Nepali seasons, respectively Basanta (spring), Grishma (summer), Barkha (monsoon), Sharad (autumn), Hemanta (late autumn) and Shishir (winter). The area of this garden is 6,895 sq. m. Inspired by some Edwardian states’ gardens in England, this garden was built with the money 100,000 won in an epic from his father in the game of Cowrie shells.

This beautiful garden in Thamel is highly popular among tourists visiting Kathmandu. As most of the tourists reside in the Thamel area, this is something to admire off and the place to attain for some leisure after extensive sightseeing in the city. In the middle of the hustle and bustle of the busy city, this is a heal that offers a very nice space to spend good times.
